Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 11, 2014) – Despite rallying back in the third set, the Sewanee volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match against Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Berry, Saturday, inside Juhan Gymnasium.
After the Vikings won the opening two sets 25-16 and 25-18, the Tigers took set three by a score of 25-23. Unfortunately, Berry then finished the Tigers off with a 25-17 four-set victory.
Having to play with a different lineup, Sewanee struggled on the attack in all but one set. Overall, the Tigers hit .091 while the Vikings posted a .236 attack percentage.
Overall, senior Jamie Sue Wilson led Sewanee with 12 kills and 19 digs. No other Tiger had more than four kills.
Libero Sara Jayne Sutton finished with 15 digs while senior Rachel Schuman added a team-high 15 assists. Fellow setter Walker Buxton also pitched in 10 assists.
Sewanee quickly returns to action with a 1:00 p.m. match against Oglethorpe, Sunday.
