Box Score

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 28, 2013) – Despite an early first half goal by freshman Carrie Anderson, the Sewanee field hockey team lost a 3-1 match against Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes, 3-1, Saturday at Puett Field.

With the loss, the Tigers evened their record to 3-3. Additionally, Sewanee is now 1-2 in league play.

Anderson netted her ninth goal of the season with only 1:43 off the clock. On the play, Anderson received a pass from senior Mary Kate McAlister and pushed her attempt past goalkeeper Erin Bailey.

Unfortunately, Rhodes stormed back with three straight scores.

Goals by Kate Taylor, Christina Difelice, and Erin Best led the Lynx back.

Overall, Rhodes outshot Sewanee 33-21. Additionally, the Lynx finished with 17 corners to Sewanee's nine attempts.

Sewanee will quickly return to action when the Tigers host conference foe Hendrix, Sunday. That match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., at Puett Field.
