Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2013) – The Sewanee volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match at Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Centre Wednesday evening inside Alumni Gymnasium.
With the loss, Sewanee fell to 10-4 overall and 1-2 in SAA play. Centre improved to 8-2 overall and 2-1 in league play.
After the Tigers dropped the first set 25-19, Centre earned set victories at 25-17 and 25-22 in the second and third sets, respectively.
A big reason for the Colonels' success was the lack of offense for Sewanee. The Tigers struggled to find consistency en route to hitting their lowest attack percentage this season.
The one bright spot for Sewanee was the play of junior outside hitter Kayla Sewell. Sewell finished with a season-high 12 kills and a .455 attack percentage.
Additionally, Walker Buxton added 10 assists while libero Jamie Kosman added 14 digs.
Sewanee will continue conference play when the Tigers host Millsaps, Saturday. That contest is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m., inside Juhan Gymnasium.
