Box Score 2 SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 6, 2013) – Long-time Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes earned a pair of victories over the Sewanee softball team, Saturday.
Sarah Anne Hamilton was charged with the pitching loss for the Tigers in the opener of the doubleheader as the Lynx came away with a 9-1 win.
Michelle Thibodeaux and Sarah Walker picked up Sewanee's only two hits in the game.
The Tigers got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth inning when Thibodeaux led off with a single between the shortstop and third baseman. Maddy Gould's groundout advanced Thibodeaux to second. With two outs Walker's pop fly single to right field plated Thibodeaux with the Tigers' only run.
In the nightcap of the doubleheader, Grace Cobbs and Cooper Killen each had a single in the Tigers' 16-0 loss to Rhodes.
Killen suffered the loss in the circle for the Tigers.
With the losses, Sewanee falls to 5-15 overall and 0-14 in SAA play.
Sewanee and Rhodes will wrap up the four-game series tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
