REDLANDS, Calif. (March 13, 2013) – After defeating Occidental to open its spring break trip, the Sewanee men's tennis team has dropped a number of tough matches over the past four days in California.
The Tigers fell against George Fox by a score of 5-4 and then lost contests against Carnegie Mellon and Redlands.
During those three matches, freshman Eric Roddy led the way with a pair of singles wins. Roddy first defeated Preston Mann of George Fox in straight sets. A day later, the Chattanooga, Tenn., native earned another win over Kevin Siebs of Redlands.
In the Tigers loss against George Fox, Rand Jackson and Sean Laughlin joined Roddy with victories in singles action. Additionally, Jackson and Laughlin also won Sewanee's only doubles point.

The Tigers will continue their spring break trip with a noon match against Vassar, Wednesday.
