Early goals too much to overcome for Sewanee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Nov. 2, 2013) – Three first-half goals helped lift Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes to a 4-0 win over the Sewanee field hockey team, Saturday.

The Lynx scored in the first half off of shots by Christina DiFelice and two by McKenna Wilson. In the second half, Corrinne Palmer scored a late insurance goal in the 66th minute.

Overall, Rhodes led in shots by a 26-14 margin. Sewanee and the Lynx did manage 11 corners each.

Individually, freshman Carrie Anderson and sophomore Maggie Boozer led the attack for the Tigers with four shots each.

Additionally, junior Zuie Billings fired two attempts.

Sewanee will look to bounce back with an 11:00 a.m. match at Hendrix, Sunday.
