Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 26, 2013) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes outlasted the Sewanee volleyball team for a 3-2 five-set win Saturday inside Mallory Gymnasium.
After the Lynx opened with a 25-15 first-set win, Sewanee earned back-to-back set victories by scores of 25-20 and 25-22. However, Rhodes rallied in the fourth (25-14) and fifth sets (15-4) behind a combined .279 attack percentage.
The Tigers were undone by a poor attack percentage in the three sets they lost. Sewanee hit .195 and .143 in the second and third sets, however the Tigers did not have a positive attack percentage in the other three.
Individually, junior Jamie Sue Wilson led the effort with 13 kills. She was joined by freshman Diamond Stewart, who finished with 10 kills.
On defense, Jamie Kosman stopped 28 attacks while Kayla Sewell finished with 15 digs. Setter Rachel Schuman also finished in double-digit digs with 11.
Sewanee quickly returns to action with a noon contest at Hendrix, Sunday.
