Sewanee falls against Bridgewater, 3-2

RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 16, 2012) – Three early goals by Bridgewater proved to the be too much to overcome, as the Sewanee field hockey team lost 3-2, Sunday, in Richmond, Va.

After the Eagles added a first-half goal by Colleen Dickson, Bridgewater built its lead with consecutive goals by Taylor Prillman and Dickson.

Down 3-0, Sewanee did not quit. Forward Anne Booke did score twice, but unfortunately the Tigers could not push the tying goal past keeper Jessica Balsano.

Overall, Sewanee fired 10 shots, with eight of those attempts being on goal. Individually, Brooke led the Tigers with four shots while keeper Anna Morrow finished with 11 saves.

After two losses, Sewanee will look to rebound when Transylvania comes to The Mountain next Saturday. That match is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
