Birmingham-Southern Sweeps Doubleheader from Tigers

SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 21, 2012) – The Birmingham-Southern Panthers defeated the Sewanee Tigers in both ends of an afternoon SCAC doubleheader played today at Sewanee.  The Panthers captured the first game 10-0 and won the nightcap 14-0.
 
It was Senior Day as the Tigers honored seniors Carly Warfield and Erin Polena between games of the doubleheader.
 
In the first game Warfield led the way with two hits in three trips to the plate, while Kayla Sewell and Kali Ousley each had a single.
 
Sarah Anne Hamilton suffered the loss for the Tigers.
 
In Game 2 Sewell and Claire Knepshield managed to punch out Sewanee's only two hits of the game.
 
Michelle Thibodeaux was the losing pitcher.
 
With the losses Sewanee falls to 5-20 overall and 0-14 in SCAC play.
 
The Tigers will wrap up the 2012 season tomorrow when they host Birmingham Southern in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
