Rhodes uses two first-half goals to down Sewanee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Nov 3, 2012) – Two early goals lifted Southern Athletic Association rival Rhodes past the Sewanee field hockey team during second-day action of the SAA Field Hockey Championships, Saturday.

With the loss, the Tigers finish the season with a 7-10 overall record.

The Lynx got on the board early in the first half, with a goal by Katie Faucher. Nine minutes later, Faucher was at it again with her second goal off an assist from Mary Rose Hazel.

Overall, Sewanee struggled offensively with Rhodes holding a significant shot advantage. Despite facing a number of attempts, senior goalkeeper Anna Morrow finished with a career-high 23 saves.

Additionally, Saturday marked the final match for seniors Morrow, Anne Booke, Mallory Silver, Molly Kennedy, and Cameron Herndon.
