Box Score ROME, Ga. (Oct. 6, 2012) – The Sewanee volleyball team lost a 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-14) decision at Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Berry Saturday, inside the Cage Center.
The loss dropped Sewanee to 9-8 overall and 3-6 in conference play. Berry improved its impressive overall record to 15-3. The Vikings also moved to 8-1 in league action.
Despite improving its attack percentage every game, Sewanee could not overcome a strong offensive performance by Berry. The Vikings finished with a .326 attack average and 44 kills.
Individually, sophomore Jamie Sue Wilson had a team-high eight kills to go along with eight digs. Setter Rachel Schuman added 17 assists, while freshman Lucy Riddle added five kills on 12 attempts.
Emily Stromberg led Berry with 12 kills and a staggering .750 attack percentage.
After five straight road matches, Sewanee returns to Juhan Gymnasium for a 6:00 p.m., match, October 12th against conference member Birmingham-Southern.
