Box Score

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 5, 2012) An early first-half goal lifted Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Birmingham-Southern to a 1-0 victory over the Sewanee women's soccer team Friday night at Puett Field.

With the loss, Sewanee fell to 5-6 overall and 1-1 in league play. Unfortunately, the loss also ended the Tigers' three-match winning streak.

BSC scored the only goal of the match, when Melissa Sweeney headed a corner kick from teammate Kelly Craft.

Individually, Sewanee was led by forward Bobbe Chaffin, who finished with three shots, and midfielder Jamie Samociuk, who fired two attempts.

The Tigers will look to rebound with a 2:00 p.m., match Sunday, against league foe Millsaps.
