Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 28, 2012) – On a cold Sunday afternoon, two second-half goals lifted Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes to a 2-0 victory over the Sewanee field hockey team.
After neither scored through the first 57 minutes, Mary Rose Hazel gave the Lynx a 1-0 advantage.
Despite a number of close chances, Sewanee could not get the ball past Rhodes keeper Jordan Robinson. The Lynx would go on and add an insurance goal when Evy Royther scored with 14 seconds left.
Overall, Rhodes finished with a 27-17 shot advantage. Additionally, the Lynx led in penalty corners, 13-8.
Individually, Molly Kennedy led the attack with a team-high five shots. Cameron Herndon also played well with four shots while Tilden Davis and Anne Booke finished with two.
Despite giving up two goals, goalkeeper Anna Morrow stopped 11 out of 13 shots on goal.
Finally, Sunday marked the final home match for seniors Booke, Kennedy, Herndon, Morrow, and Mallory Silver.
