Box Score JACKSON, Miss. (Oct. 13, 2012) – Garrett Pinciotti threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns, as Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps outlasted Sewanee 42-28, Saturday, at Harper Davis Field.
With the loss, Sewanee dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in SAA action.
Millsaps jumped out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead, after the Majors scored on their first three possessions.
Sewanee answered when junior quarterback Curtis Johnson added a three-yard touchdown run with 2:33 left in the first quarter.
Unfortunately, the Majors scored two more touchdowns in the first-half, including a one-yard score by Pinciotti right before halftime.
Andy Moots cut the Millsaps lead to 35-21, when the freshman found the end zone for his first career score with 10:04 remaining in the third quarter.
After Millsaps added one final score, freshman quarterback Cody Daniel connected a 39-yard touchdown pass to Greg Hurt.
Millsaps rolled up 466 yards of total offense to 343 yards for Sewanee. Additionally, Mike Barthelemy added two touchdowns and 122 yards rushing for the Majors.
Johnson led 10 Sewanee players with 64 yards on 19 carries. Defensively, senior defensive back J.D. Crabtree had a season-high 12 tackles, one tackle for a loss, one interception, and one forced fumble.
