Box Score 2 JACKSON, Miss. (Nov. 4, 2011) – During opening day action of the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Volleyball Tournament the Sewanee volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Friday inside the Hangar Dome in Jackson, Mississippi.
With the two losses Sewanee now sits with an 8-23 record.
Sewanee vs. Trinity
Sewanee opened the day with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-17) loss to fifth-seeded Trinity.
In that match, Sewanee was led by freshman Jamie Sue Wilson, who posted nine kills, 16 digs and one block. Freshman setter Rachel Schuman also had a team-high 23 assists.
As a team, Trinity hit for .366 in the three-set match. Individually, TU was led by Catharine Found, who recorded a .438 mark, with seven kills, no errors in 93 total attacks.
Sewanee vs. Hendrix
In their second matchup of the afternoon, the Tigers fell by another 3-0 score this time to Hendrix.
Wilson again led Sewanee with a team-high eight kills. Schuman added 17 assists against the Warriors, while freshman Kayla Sewell pitched in with 14 digs.
Sewanee will close out its season with a 9:00 a.m. contest Saturday morning.
