Final Stats: Sewanee at Centre
SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 22, 2011) – After scoring the first touchdown of the game, the Sewanee football team could not overcome 28 unanswered points by SCAC rival Centre, as the Colonels earned a 28-14 win Saturday at Farris Stadium.
With the loss, the Tigers sit with a 3-5 record overall and a 0-4 mark in league play.

Zeke Wilson gave the Tigers their only lead of the day, after he found the endzone from one-yard out.
On Centre's next drive, the Colonels responded with a nine play 87-yard dive, which was capped off by a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tyler Osterman to his brother Jason Osterman.
The Colonels continued their output after Centre recovered a Sewanee fumble at the Tiger 24. Despite Sewanee's defense holding Centre the first three plays of the possession, Centre had the last say after junior kicker Jordan Gay ran in a fake field goal to give the Colonels a 14-7 lead.
Centre added its final touchdown of the first half after the Colonels recovered another Sewanee turnover with only 3:39 to play. Three plays into the Centre drive, Osterman threw his second score of the day this time to receiver Rob Melillo.
After Centre added its final touchdown midway through the third quarter, Sewanee finally added its second score of the day with 7:05 left in the contest. The Tigers marched 80 yards on a 17 plays, capped off by Barrett Goodson two-yard plunge.
Despite being held to 180 yards rushing, Sewanee's biggest hurdle was both its fumbles, which led to 14 Centre points. Overall, the Colonels outgained the Tigers 322-202. Individually, senior defensive back
Alfonza Knight had a strong game after making five tackles and one sack.
Sewanee will continue its two-game road trip with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff next Saturday at long-time conference rival Rhodes.
