SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2011) – For the first time since 2005 the Sewanee football team has won three games, after the Tigers took care of visiting DePauw 30-7, Saturday afternoon at McGee Field at Harris Stadium.
With the win Sewanee now sits at 3-4 on the season. Also with the victory against the Tigers, Sewanee earned its first win over DePauw since 1999.
After Sewanee jumped out to a 23-7 lead at the half, the Tigers never looked back, holding DePauw's offense scoreless throughout the game. The lone DePauw touchdown came in the second quarter after Taylor Wagnor took a kickoff back 95 yards for the score.
Individually, senior slotback
Ben Cleveland led the way offensively with 94 total yards, while junior linebacker
John Davenport had his best game this season with 8.5 tackles and one sack.
