CONWAY, Ark. -- The Sewanee men's tennis team moved to 3-0 in 2010 on Saturday with wins against SCAC foe Hendrix and The University of the Ozarks. The Tigers beat the Warriors 8-1 and then shut out Ozarks 9-0. The Tigers dropped a tough 9-8 pro set at \#1 doubles gainst Hendrix and then ran the rest of the courts for the 8-1 win. In the nightcap, they stopped Ozarks, which didn't even win a set. Anthony Lioce (Huntsville, Ala., Randolph School) and Levi Joy (Weatherford, Tex., Brock) played singles and doubles in both mathes and came away with a perfect 4-0 record each on the day.
The unbeaten Tigers will host Oglethorpe next weekend in Sewanee. Sewanee is currently ranked \#14 in the Atlantic South region and \#1 player Daniel Arnold (Louisville, Ky., DuPont Manuel) is ranked 14th as a singles player in the region.
