NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Sewanee opened its 2009 SCAC Championship bid with a 6-3 men's tennis win over Oglethorpe. Sewanee is seeded fourth, compared to a \#5 rank for OU.
Sewanee swept the doubles portion of the match and wins at numbers five and six singles secured the win for the Tigers. Charlie Boyd's late win after a 10-point tiebreaker at \#1 singles in the third set secured the 6-3 win. The Tigers are 11-7 so far and will face \#1-seed DePauw tomorrow at 8 am.
