SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Sewanee hosted in-state and SCAC rival Rhodes in field hockey action on Friday afternoon and after a scoreless first half, Rhodes' Chelsea McCloud scored the winner three minutes into the second half. The final was 1-0 in favor of the visiting Lynx.
Sewanee took 10 shots on the day, compared to 15 for Rhodes. Rhodes had a slight 11-10 edge on penalty corner opportunities, also. In goal,
Emily Detmer (Denver, Colo./Pomfret) had seven saves for Sewanee. Meghan Cullen had eight for Rhodes.
Sewanee falls to 3-4 with the loss and is still looking for its first SCAC win. The Tigers will host Hendrix on Sunday.
