Men's Soccer Falls with Late Austin Goal

SHERMAN, Texas -- Sewanee was deadlocked at one through regulation and into the 110th minute of play against SCAC foe Austin College in men's soccer play on Sunday, before The 'Roos' Sam Temple scored with 13 minutes left to get the 2-1 win for host Austin.

After Chris Stein scored for Austin early in the first, Watson Hartsoe (Maryville, Tenn., Maryville) scored for Sewanee off of a Patrick Johnson (Cleveland, Tenn., McCallie) to even the score at one in the 26th minute. Austin outshot Sewanee 30-12 on the day. Sewanee's Freddie Delchamps (Helena, Ala., Indian Springs) played all 109 minutes in goal and logged 10 saves on the day. Grant Gosselin got the win in goal for Austin and had three saves.

Sewanee is now 7-6 and 3-2 in the SCAC. The Tigers will play at Hendrix and Rhodes next weekend. Austin is now 3-8 and 2-5 in the SCAC.
