After a scoreless first half, Sewanee got out to a 1-0 lead with a
Lynn Hancock (Paris, Ky., Foxcroft) goal seven minutes into the second half. Hancock has 15 goals so far this year and is one away from the all-time Sewanee record for a single season. She is also leading the SCAC in shots, shots per game and goals this year.
Sewanee added one for insurance on a
Julie Wilson (McLean, Va., Langley) goal before
Sarah Riffle scored DePauw's only goal with just three minutes left in the game. Wilson also scored the game-winner against Centre in overtime on Saturday.
Sewanee took eight shots on the day and made them count, scoring on a quarter of them. DePauw's shot count was 13. Senior
Clarkie Crawford (Louisville, Ky., Collegiate) earned the win in goal for Sewanee and had 12 saves on the day. She is leading the league in saves and saves per game this year.
Liz Atwell logged four saves for DePauw.
Sewanee is now 11-6 and 4-4 in the league. It has won its last five contests The Tigers will compete at the SCAC Tournament next weekend. DePauw is now 13-3 and will also compete at the SCACs.
