Why Sewanee: I heard about Sewanee from myphysician, who attended Sewanee. He thought it would be a greatmatch for me when I told him that I wanted to attend a school whereI could focus on academics as well as continue to play soccer. OnceI visited Sewanee, the beauty of this campus blew me away and itcontinues to daily.
Personal: Hadley Anne Mates was born inWilmington, North Carolina … daughter of Tom and Kaia Mates… one sister, Cait (24) and brother, Walker (19), who playedsoccer at the University of New England (2009) … her father,Tom, played lacrosse at St. Michael’s College in the 1970s… majoring in psychology.
