Rico Wallace enters his sixth season with the University of the South football program as an assistant coach. In 2021, he was named the program's Offensive Coordinator.

Wallace joined the Tigers' staff in 2017 after spending time at Wartburg College (Iowa) during the 2016 season, coaching the running backs.

During the 2015 season, Wallace served as an assistant coach for Illinois Wesleyan, responsible for the tight ends and defensive backs.

A 2012 graduate with a degree in sports management from Shenandoah University, Wallace was a four-year letterman and an all-conference wide receiver. He still holds a number of school season and career records, including most receptions in a career (189), season (67) and game (12); career (3,287) and season receiving yards (1,241); and TD catches in a season (14) and game (5).

Although he did not play professionally due to medical reasons, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers in 2012 and with the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League in 2013. After being released each of those years he returned to Shenandoah where he served as an assistant wide receivers coach.

Wallace also graduated in 2016 with a master's degree in sports psychology at Illinois State University. He is married to the former Nysha Davis, who serves the University's Wellness Commons as a Coordinator, and they have one daughter, River.
