Peter Carpenter enters his second year as an assistant coach with the University of the South football program, serving as the running backs coach. 

Prior to his arrival on the Domain, he spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons at Hampden-Sydney College (Va.) as their tight ends coach and run game coordinator. Additionally, he served as assistant strength and conditioning coach, film upload and practice breakdown. 

Prior to his time with H-SC, he served as an intern with the Kings' College (Pa.), working with running backs and linebackers for two seasons. Before that, he was an assistant with high school alma mater, Downington East High School. 

Originally from Downington, Pa., Carpenter attended from Ursinus College in 2017. A four-year letterwinner with the Bears' football program, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics with a Finance Focus with a Coaching minor.
