Lee Menefee C'19 enters his first season with the University of the South football program in 2021.
Making his return to the Domain, Menefee spent the last two seasons with Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Birmingham-Southern College as a linebackers coach. During his tenure with the Panthers, Menefee was responsible for all of the passing game breakdown the opposition's offense on a weekly basis. Additionally, he coordinated the punt return team and assisted with the special teams, as well as the offensive scout team.
In 2019, he led the Panthers a scoring defense of 23.1, the best red zone defense in the conference (67.6%) and set the school record in sacks (23). In addition, he coached two All-SAA linebackers.
During his athletic career on the Domain, Menefee was a four-year letterwinner with the football program. A two-time First Team All-Conference Defense selection in 2017 and 2018, he tallied 95 and 90 tackles, respectively. For his career, he totaled 244 takes, 13 for a loss, and forced six fumbles.
Menefee graduated from the University of the South in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics. He is married to the former Alex Varner.
