Biography

PRE-COLLEGE

  • Benjamin comes to the Mountain, after playing for coach Aris Kyriakides at Metairie.
  • There, Benjamin finished his career as the Most Outstanding Player in the Louisiana State High School Championship match.
  • Also, Benjamin scored the game-winning goal from his centerback position to lift the Cajuns to the title. Additionally, he was voted to the Louisiana Prep XI Team, as one of the Top-11 players in the state.
  • A Louisiana First-Team All-State selection, Benjamin was the district player of the year, and the Times Picayune All-Metro New Orleans Team selction as a senior.
  • Prior to that, Benjamin was named to the All-Metro Team, a Second-Team All-State selection and an all-district player as a junior. 
  • His sophomore season, Benjamin was named the district defensive most valuable player and before that, he was an all-district selection as a freshman.
  • Outside of his outstanding prep career, Benjamin played his club soccer with the Chicago Fire Juniors team under coach Geo.
  • His teams were consistently in the Louisiana State Playoffs, finishing as high as fourth in 2011.
