SEWANEE, Tenn. – Silas Montana clinched the match as Sewanee's men's tennis team defeated Millsaps, 4-0, for its 14th straight win, moving to 16-1 on the season and staying unbeaten in conference play.
Drew Rukavina and Ben Lammert rolled to a 6-1 win at two doubles to get the match started for the Tigers, and Max Verellen and Lucas Wrigley secured the doubles point at three with a 6-2 win. Andre-Remi Jacobi and Samuel Schroerlucke secured the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win at one.
The Tigers played to clinch as Wrigley finished his match first at line two, dropping just two games for a 6-2, 6-0 win. At one, Lammert posted a 6-4, 6-3 result to get Sewanee within one point of the match, and Silas Montana secured the win at five, 6-1, 6-1.
The Tigers will head to Berry and Oglethorpe to close out conference play before returning home for a doubleheader against Piedmont and Cumberland on April 19th.
