SEWANEE, Tenn.Zach Fortman posted seven hits and 15 RBIs in the doubleheader and Aidan Petrocco added four hits and five runs scored, helping Sewanee to 9-5 and 19-3 victories over Asbury University in baseball action here Saturday at Montgomery Field.

Fortman's bases-clearing triple broke a tie game in the seventh inning in the opener and he added an RBI single and a two-run homer. In the second contest he drove in nine runs, including a grand slam in the second inning and a three-run homer in the fourth. The Tigers (8-4-1) plated nine runs in the first inning and never looked back in the second game.

Sewanee starter Taj Donald allowed three runs on 10 hits in five innings in the first contest, posting two walks and five strikeouts. The Eagles stranded eight runners against the righthander and he used a doubleplay to limit the damage in one of the frames.

Eli Potter (2-0) worked four innings of relief for the win, allowing two runs in his first inning before retiring the final nine batters thanks to a pair of doubleplays.

John Parker Rambo (1-1) tossed six quality innings in the second contest, giving up two earned runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out seven and Ryan Moll retired the final three hitters, striking out two.

Fortman finished 4-for-4 in the opener and 3-for-3 with a walk in the second game while Petrocco collected two hits and scored twice in the first game and added two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored in the second outing. Spencer Yu recorded three hits, two runs and two RBIs, Charlie Teel added two hits and three RBIs and Sebastian Leinberger netted two hits and two runs scored in the second game as well.

The Eagles (5-10) plated a run in the top of the first in the opener after a one-out single up the middle by Andrew Billington. He stole second and went to third on a fly ball to right from Aaron Beaman. After a hit by pitch, Cam Weaver's chopper up the middle was knocked down by an outstretched Petrocco but he was unable to get an out, plating the run.

Petrocco doubled on the first pitch in the bottom of the first and scored on a single down the rightfield line by Yu. He stole second and came across on a two-out single to center from Fortman.

In the second Bryce Hayden drew a leadoff walk before a bouncer through the leftside from Ben Krza and a bunt single by Hank Burns, loading the bases for Asbury. Edison Burke also drew a free pass, forcing in a run, and another came across when Billington bounced into a 6-4-3 doubleplay.

The Tigers regained the lead in the fourth after a leadoff walk by Pinson and a two-run homer to rightcenter from Fortman. Petrocco added a solo homer to rightcenter in the fifth for a 5-3 advantage.

In the sixth Burns beat out an infield single to the right side and Burke singled to left before a bunt single from Billington loaded the bases. Beaman dropped a single into leftcenter, scoring a run, and Josh McNulty's line drive to center plated another, knotting the game at five, but Potter worked out of the jam with a strikeout and a fly ball to center.

Sewanee broke the game open in the seventh, with Leinberger leading off with a pinch-hit single to right. He moved to second on Petrocco's sacrifice bunt and third on a two-out single from Teel. Pinson was hit, loading the bases, and Fortman followed with a bases-clearing triple to rightcenter. Will Jennewein then singled, plating another run for a 9-5 lead.

Fortman then tripled off the wall in rightcenter, driving in a run, and Jennewein walked. Fortman scored after a bad pickoff attempt at first and Ethan Williams followed with an RBI single. Bagwell was also hit and Leinberger singled to right, loading the bases.

Petrocco singled to left, driving in two runs, and Yu's line drive past a driving centerfielder plated two more, ending the day for Asbury starter Cayden Devine. Teel walked, Pinson was hit and Fortman's free pass forced in another run for a 9-0 advantage.

Leinberger led off the bottom of the second inning with a single to rightcenter and Petrocco was hit before Yu singled to left, loading the bases. Teel dumped a double into short center, driving in two runs, and after Pinson was hit again, Fortman drilled a grand slam to dead centerfield, stretching the lead to 15-1.
