Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's lacrosse falls to Colorado College, 13-6

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Colorado College used a six-goal second quarter to pull away as Sewanee's men's lacrosse team fell 13-6 on Saturday afternoon in Georgetown, Texas. 

Manoli Loupassi scored two goals and added two ground balls, while Robert Freeman, Tyler Clary, and Will Kennedy each recorded a goal and an assist. Charlie Hanson also found the back of the net for the Tigers.

Defensively, James Boguskey led Sewanee with two caused turnovers, while Flynn Bowman recorded 18 saves and collected seven ground balls in goal. Kennedy added five ground balls, and Freeman and Clary each picked up three.

Colorado College struck first after hitting the post, but Freeman answered to tie the game at 1-1 with 11:21 remaining in the first quarter. The visitors added a late goal with 1:52 to go in the period to take a 2-1 lead into the second.

Colorado College opened the second quarter with two quick goals before Benton Sullivan won the ensuing faceoff, leading to a connection between Griffin Peterson and Loupassi to cut the deficit. However, Colorado College responded with four more goals to cap a six-goal quarter and take an 8-2 lead into halftime.

Sewanee came out strong in the third, scoring three straight goals to trim the margin. Freeman connected with Kennedy to open the period, before Kennedy found Loupassi just over a minute later. Clary then tallied his first career goal to bring the Tigers within three with 12:52 remaining.

Colorado College answered with three consecutive goals, including a man-up score, to push the lead back to six. Clary later assisted Hanson for a pole-on-pole goal with 52 seconds left in the third to make it 11-6.

Colorado College added two goals in the fourth quarter to secure the 13-6 victory.

The Tigers return home to face Berry on April 4 at 1 p.m. before facing Southern Virginia on Monday afternoon.
