SEWANEE, Tenn. – Samuel Schroerlucke clinched the match for Sewanee as they defeated DePauw, 7-0 on Sunday morning in Danville, Ky.

Lucas Wrigley and Max Verellen got the ball rolling at three doubles, dropping just one game en route to a 6-1 win in 29 minutes. Andre-Remi Jakobi and Samuel Schroerlucke clinched the doubles point at one with a 6-3 win. Drew Rukavina and Ben Lammert secured the double sweep with a 7-5 tiebreaker win at two doubles.

Verellen continued to roll in singles, collecting an 0,0 win at five in 58 minutes. Henry Hyden followed, winning the first set 6-4, before cruising to a 6-0 second set to put Sewanee within one. Schroerlucke clinched the match for the Tigers with a 6-4, 6-2 win at three. At four, Lammert won the first set, 6-4 but dropped the second, 1-6. He settled in to take the third set in a tiebreaker, 10-8.

Jakobi also won in a third-set tiebreaker. He won the first set 6-3, dropped the second in a tiebreaker, 7-4, and took a tight third-set breaker, 11-9. Lucas Wrigley secured the sweep for Sewanee at six after battling back from dropping the first set, 7-5. He took the second set 6-0, and won the third in another 11-9 match tiebreak.

Sewanee will host No. 36 Southwestern and No. 14 Trinity at home next weekend for a conference double header, with both matches at 9 a.m.
