Tigers picked second in SAA Women's Tennis Preseason Poll

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's women's tennis team is slated to finish second in the Southern Athletic Association Preseason Poll, as released by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

Trinity was picked as the 2026 preseason favorite with six first-place votes for 55 points, while Sewanee received two first-place votes for 49 points. Rhodes tallied 43 points in third place, while Southwestern received 37 points. Berry rounded out the top five with 34 points.

Trinity is ranked 11th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) preseason rankings. Trinity fell to No. 4-ranked Pomona-Pitzer in the third round of the 2025 NCAA Championships.

Sewanee is coming off of its 11th SAA Championship title and a second-round run in the NCAA Tournament.

The 2026 Southern Athletic Association Women's Tennis Championships will be held in Memphis, Tenn., at the Leftwich Tennis Center on April 24-26.
