Bigham named USBWA National Player of the Week

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Fletcher Bigham has been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III National Player of the Week, as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon. Bigham earned his first career nod from the USBWA. 

The junior led the Tigers' conference road sweep, averaging 31.5 points and 13.5 rebounds, while shooting 67.6 percent (23-of-34) from the field, 100 percent (7-of-7) from the foul line, and 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from three-point range. 

The Charlotte, N.C. native opened the weekend at Oglethorpe with a 23-point and 13-rebound night. He was 10-of-14 from the field and 3-of-7 from the three-point range, while adding an assist and a steal in Seawnee's 93-85 victory over Oglethorpe. 

Bigham followed that up with a career-best 40-point performance, including the 1,000th point of his career, en route to an 82-72 win over Berry. He was 13-of-20 from the field, 7-of-7 from the charity stripe, and 7-of-11 from behind the arc. He added 14 rebounds, three blocks, an assist, and a steal to his day. 

Bigam was also named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week and named the Southern Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for his efforts.
