Women’s Tennis 27th in final ITA Ranking

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released the final rankings for the 2024-25 season, as Sewanee's women's tennis team is ranked 27th in the nation. 

The Tigers were 14-6 on the season and won their 11th Southern Athletic Association Conference Tournament and remain undefeated in conference. The Tigers also did not drop a match in conference play for the 2024-25 season. 

The Tigers fell in the second round of the NCAA tournament to Kenyon, closing out their season with their 12th consecutive NCAA appearance and 31st overall in the NCAA field.

Ansley Carpenter took home the SAA conference player of the year, and Conchie Shackelford was named Coach of the year as the Tigers placed six different student-athletes on first or second team All-Conference for singles and two doubles teams on First-Team All-SAA. 

Brooke Despriet and Ansley Carpenter represented the Tigers at the NCAA doubles individual tournament, falling in the quarterfinals to the eventual National Champions, and ended the season with a final doubles ranking of 20.
