SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's women's tennis program honored its seniors with two 7-0 wins over Oglethorpe and UT Southern.

Against Ogelthorpe, the Tigers dropped just two games en route to their sixth consecutive sweep and picked up their seventh against UT Southern.

The Tigers quickly secured the doubles point, with CiCi Hardin and Bradley Tyer Jones posting a 6-0 win at No. 2. Sewanee also picked up a forfeit win at No. 3, and Ivy Wilson and Harper High wrapped up doubles play with a 6-0 victory at the top spot.

In singles, Tyer Jones finished first with a quick win at No. 3, followed by Hardin at No. 5, and Allison Bizub at No.4. High added a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2, and Wilson blanked her opponent at the top spot, 6-0, 6-0. Sewanee collected a forfeit at No. 6 to complete the sweep.

Brooke Despriet and Ansley Carpenter quickly set the tone against UT Southern with a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles. Sarah Livingston and Mariella Congeni clinched the doubles point for the Tigers at No. 3, 6-1.

In singles, Despriet continued her momentum from doubles, picking up a 6-0, 6-1 win in 30 minutes. Carpenter won at No. 1 with the same result before Congeni clinched the match for the Tigers at four, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 6, Emma Caldwell picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win. Sarah Livingston dropped the first set at No. 2, but fought back to force a third set tie-breaker with a 6-2 second set. Livingston saved six match points in the super breaker, coming away with a 15-13 win. At five, Ivy Wilson won the first set, 6-1, but dropped the second, 2-6. Wilson also saved match points and collected an 11-9 super set breaker to secure Sewanee's seventh consecutive sweep.

Sewanee hosts Centre and Wallace State on Saturday April 19.
