SEWANEE, Tenn. – Ivy Wilson picked up a point for the Tigers, but Sewanee's women's tennis team fell to No. 2 ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday afternoon.

Ansley Carpenter and Brooke Despriet secured a 7-6 win at No. 1 doubles, but CMS took the other two doubles matches to pick up the doubles point. Ivy Wilson and Emma Caldwell fell 6-4 at No. 2, while Sarah Livingston and Mariella Congeni dropped their match 6-2 at No. 3.

In singles, Wilson claimed Sewanee's lone point at No. 5, defeating Muduo Zhou in a third set battle. Wilson won the first set but dropped the second, before coming back to take the third set breaker, 6-4, 6-7, 10-4. Carpenter pushed her match at No. 1 to three sets before falling 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Livingston fought hard at No. 2 but lost 6-1, 7-5. At No. 3, Congeni fell 6-1, 6-4, and Despriet dropped her No. 4 match 6-4, 6-1. Emma Caldwell wrapped up the singles matches with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 loss at No. 6.

The Tigers will face No. 30 ranked Vassar, previously rescheduled due to weather, on Monday at 2 p.m. CT (Noon PT) at the Mountain Gate Country Club in Los Angeles, Calif.
