SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Sewanee women's tennis team defeated No. 30 Vassar College in Los Angeles, Calif. on Monday afternoon, 5-2, after the match was rescheduled due to weather.

Ansley Carpenter and Brooke Despriet got a quick start in doubles, not dropping a game for a 6-0 win. Sarah Livingston and Mariella Congeni secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 2.

Emma Caldwell rolled to a quick 6-0, 6-1 win, followed by Despriet at four, 6-2, 6-3. Ansley Carpenter fell at line one, 1-6, 5-7 and Sarah Livingston fell in a third set for a 3-2 match. Congeni clinched the match for Sewanee, winning 0-6, 6-1, 7-6 (5). Ivy Wilson was the last match on as she dropped the first set, but came back to win in three sets, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4.

Sewanee will travel to No. 39 Chapman on Tuesday at 3 PM CT (1 PM PT).
