SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Tigers played another exhibition on Friday afternoon as they sweep Cumberland in the Bruton Guerry Indoor Courts.

Sewanee took the doubles point as the Tigers took 2-of-3 matches, Brooke Despriet and Ansley Carpenter won at No. 1, 6-1 and Ivy Wilson and Emma Caldwell dropped just two games to win at No. 3 and take the doubles point.

Despriet finished first as she posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles against Asya Tilsim Timur. Carpenter battled to win the first set in a tie breaker, but did not drop another game for a 7-6 (4), 6-0 win at one. Livingston won another tight first set in a breaker, 7-6 (8) and finished a straight set victory, 6-4 to clinch the match. Wilson, at No.5 cruised, dropping just one game for a 6-1, 6-0 win. Mariella Congeni came away with another tight match at No. 4, 7-5, 7-6 (4), and Caldwell closed the match out with a 6-4, 6-1 win at six.

The Tigers will open their season against #25 Grinnell next Friday scheduled after the men's match with a tentative start time of 3 p.m.
