Tigers open season with 6-1 win over No. 26 Grinnell

Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee women's tennis opened their season in the Charlotte Guerry indoor courts as they faced No. 26 Grinnell, collecting a 6-1 win.

Sarah Livingston and Harper High got the Tigers started off with a quick 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles before Brooke Despriet and Ansley Carpenter clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 1. Emma Caldwell and Ivy Wilson secured the doubles sweep with a 6-3 win, to send the Tigers into singles with major momentum.

Livingston dropped just three games on the day as she secured a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 in under an hour. At two, Despriet came away with a 6-3, 6-3 win and Mariella Congeni clinched the match for the Tigers at No. 4, 6-1, 6-3. Ivy Wilson and Emma Caldwell closed out the match for the Tigers with wins at five and six, both with scores of 6-3, 6-2.

The Tigers will travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to face Southwestern on Sunday.
