SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Tigers women's tennis team defeated Southwestern 7-0 on Sunday afternoon in Murfreesboro, Tenn. at the Adams Tennis Center.

The Tigers started out doubles strong as Sarah Livingston and Harper High collected a quick win at three doubles, dropping just one game, followed by Emma Caldwell and Ivy Wilson with a 6-3 win at No. 2, clinching the doubles point. Ansley Carpenter and Brooke Despriet secured the doubles sweep with a 7-5 win at No. 1.

In singles, Ivy Wilson collected a quick win at No. 4, with a 6-1, 6-1 win, followed by Mariella Congeni at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-0 win for a 3-0 lead. Livingston clinched the match for Sewanee at two singles, winning the first set in a tiebreaker, 7-4, but then dropped just one more game for the win. Emma Caldwell finished next, with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5, before Despriet came back from dropping the first set for a three-set win at one, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Harper High wrapped up the day for Sewanee, with a 6-3, 6-1 win at six.

Sewanee will play another neutral site match against North Carolina Wesleyan on Feb. 22 at Emory in Atlanta, Ga. against North Carolina Wesleyan.
