Sam Leonard finished third in the high jump, freshman
Elliott Allen was third in the pole vault and freshman
Parker Tallman placed second in the mile run and sixth in the 800-meters for Sewanee men's track and field at the Centre Indoor Invitational and Multis on Saturday in Danville, Ky.
Leonard cleared 6-feet, 0.75-inches for third in the high jump while Allen posted a mark of 13-feet, 3.5-inches in the pole vault for third as well.
Tallman finished the mile in 4:27.79 for second place and was sixth in the 800 in 2:01.94. Freshmen
Chase Cavitch and
Henry Zanone placed 13
th and 23
rd in the 800, respectively, in 2:06.76 and 2:23.77.
In the 400-meters junior
Lane Gamble led four Sewanee sprinters with a 12
th-place showing in 53.68 while Leonard was 18
th in 54.68, junior
Brandon Christ placed 24
th in 56.83 and junior
Gavin Stallings was 28
th in 58.51.
In the 200-meters freshman
Jacob Heilpern finished 10
th in 23.92, with sophomore
Jackson Knoll in 16
th in 24.32, junior
Nana Addo 23
rd in 24.93 and senior
Jenkins Darbney 30
th in 25.59.
Freshman
Declan Oberlies placed 11
th in the 3000-meters in 9:40.71 and the 4x400-meter relay of Knoll,
Jimmy Holmes, Heilpern and Gamble finished second in 3:33.16.
In other field events, junior
Lukus White placed 18
th in the shot put (36-feet, 4.5-inches) and 19
th in the weight throw (38-1) while junior
Brayden Owens was 20
th in the shot put (35-10) and 29
th in the weight throw (33-3) and sophomore
Stevie Mack finished 26
th in the weight throw (34-5).
The Tigers will host the Sewanee Invitational next Saturday before taking part in the SAA Indoor Championships in Danville on Feb. 28-March 1.
