Bigham tallied 22, Carrier adds 14 as Tigers fall at LaGrange

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Fletcher Bigham posted 22 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season, and Reid Carrier added 14 points, but LaGrange shot 53 percent from the field and capitalized on 26 points off turnovers to hand Sewanee a 100-81 loss on Tuesday night inside Mariotti Gym.

Bigham led the Tigers (0–6) with an efficient 8-for-12 performance from the floor and a 5-for-7 mark from three-point range. He added four assists, three steals, and two blocks, scoring 16 of his 22 points in the second half. Carrier reached double figures for the third time this season, finishing with 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals while going a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line.

Nikolas Avaliani tallied 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals, and Jack Bakken added nine points, four rebounds, and five assists, including an early second-half three-pointer that helped spark a brief push. Aidan Treacy also scored in double figures with 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting.

Sewanee shot 40 percent from the field and knocked down 11 three-pointers, including seven after halftime as the Tigers trimmed the deficit to nine with just over 17 minutes remaining. LaGrange (4-2), however, answered with efficient shooting of its own, finishing 12-for-24 from beyond the arc, and used multiple fast-break opportunities to rebuild its lead.

The Panthers led 55-38 at halftime behind 15 points from Tyler Harrington and 10 from Devin Dowell. Their bench contributed 45 points in the win, led by Harrington and Micah McAllister, and they forced 19 Sewanee turnovers that resulted directly in 26 points.

Sewanee held its own on the boards with a 40-41 rebounding margin and received 23 points from the bench, highlighted by six from Jacob Amonett and three from Philip Ryan.

The Tigers return home on Friday, Dec. 6, hosting Asbury at 3 p.m. before beginning a four-game road stretch to close out the calendar year.
