Despriet and Petty fall in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Individual Championships

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Brooke Despriet and Katherine Petty fell in a three set battle to Amherst University in the quarter finals of the NCAA Individual Doubles Championships.

Despriet and Petty fell in the first 5-7, but came back in the second set to force a deciding set with a 6-4 win.

In the final set, the Tigers saved a match point for a 5 all third set. Sewanee then broke for a 6-5 lead and had the chance to serve for the match. However, Amherst came back to force a tiebreaker at 6 all in the third set.

The Tigers fell in the tiebreaker 2-7, as the Amherst doubles team will face the four seed of M. Cristiani and O. Soffer from Babson on Monday in the semifinals.
