No. 15 Tigers rout No. 27 Generals at home, 8-1

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Tigers swept the doubles point and never let up as the Tigers defeated No. 27 Washinton and Lee at home 8-1. 

Liam Baer and Gil Weston came back from being down early at three doubles to collect the first point of the match, 8-5. Peyton Erck and Andre-Remi Jakobi also collected an 8-5 win at two doubles before Jordan Theron and Quinn Wicklund clinched the doubles sweep with a 8-6 win at line one. 

Talman Ramsey made quick work at line five, collecting a 6-2, 6-1 result in less than an hour. Weston clinched the match for the Tigers at line four, winning 6-2, 6-3 over Sanjheev Rao. Henry Hyden finished with a 7-5, 6-4 win at six for a 6-0 match for Sewanee. At line three, Wicklund collected the first set in a 7-4 tie-breaker and dropped only two more games to for a 7-6 (4), 6-2 win. Theron at one singles, dropped the first set, 3-6, but only dropped two more games, cruising to win the second and third sets 6-1, 6-1. At line two, Peyton Erck collected the first set, 6-3, but fell in two back-to-back tiebreakers for a 6-3, 6-7 (6), 7-10 loss. 

The Tigers have a bye in the first round of the conference championships as they won the regular season title for the 10th year in a row. They will compete in the semifinals on Saturday, April 27 at the Adams Tennis Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
