SEWANEE, Tenn. – Nicole Nowak clinched the match at five singles in women's tennis action on Saturday morning over Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.

Nicole Nowak and Mariella Congeni, at line three, took the first point of the day for the Tigers with an 8-3 win at line three doubles. Brooke Despriet and Katherine Petty won at line one, 8-4. At line two, Emma Caldwell and Ansley Carpenter fell 6-8 as the Tigers went into singles play, 2-1.

The Tigers, however, did not drop a point after doubles, taking all of the singles points. For an 8-1 finish. Congeni was the first to finish at line four, dropping only one game for a 6-1, 6-0 result. Carpenter finished at line three next over her opponent Emma McHale 6-2, 6-1. At line five, Nowak clinched the match for the Tigers with a clean 6-2, 6-1 win. Petty finished next with a 6-2, 6-2 result over Gracie Rask at line one. At line two, Desrpiet finished next with a 6-4, 6-3 win. At line six, Caldwell took a 6-0 first set, before winning a 7-5 second set to conclude the 8-1 win for Sewanee.

The Tigers travel to Hendrix to compete in their last regular season conference match on Sunday at Noon before they host No. 21 Washington and Lee at home on Wednesday, April 24 at 3 p.m. CT.
