SEWANEE, Tenn. – Peyton Erck clinched the match for Sewanee against No. 14 Trinity University of Texas on the final day of the ITA Indoor National Championships.

The Tigers had a strong start, as Jordan Theron and Quinn Wicklund at No. 1 doubles, and Erck and Andre-Remi Jakobi clinched the doubles point at No. 2.

The Tigers then secured three singles matches to clinch the match in an hour and 15 minutes. At No. 5 Gil Weston posted a routine win, 6-0, 6-3. Theron was the next match off as he won at No. 1 against Jared Perry of Trinity, 6-4, 6-2. Erck clinched the match for Sewanee at No. 2 6-4, 6-2.

The match was played to the clinch, but Talman Ramsey at No. 3 came back from a set down to split sets. At No. 6, Henry Hyden took the first in a close tiebreaker, 7-6 (9).

The Tigers travel to California during spring break where they will play five teams, four of which are nationally ranked.
