Tigers Drop 8-1 Decision to No. 6 Emory

Box Score Sewanee, TN - The Sewanee Women's Tennis Team dropped an 8-1 decision to the visiting No. 6 Emory Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

Despite an early win in Doubles by reigning National Champions Brooke Despriet and Katherine Petty, the Tigers dropped the other two doubles matches to fall behind 2-1 in the match. 

At No. 1 singles, Katherine Petty took Emily Kantrovitz to match point, however, was unable to convert, losing the match in a tiebreaker at six all in the third set, 6-8 after coming back to win the second set, 6-3. Sarah Livingston also went to three at No. 4 singles against Iris Berman. Livingston took the first set, 6-3, lost the second 4-6, and fell in the third set breaker, 5-10. The Tigers were not able to recover, dropping the remaining 4 singles matches in two sets. 

The Tigers return to action this Thursday evening in Danville, KY where they kick off SAA play at Centre College before facing No. 2 University of Chicago in the first round of the ITA Indoor National Championships in Nicholasville, Ky at the Top Seed Tennis Club.
