Falvey’s Career-High Leads Sewanee Past Warren Wilson

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Olivia Falvey matched her career-high with 26 points to lead the Sewanee women's basketball team to an 82-66 road victory over Warren Wilson on Saturday afternoon.

Falvey delivered a standout performance, adding four rebounds and a steal to her 26-point outing. She was supported by Hannah Cleveland, who recorded 13 points and eight rebounds, and Grace Gavin, who contributed 10 points. Cydney Wright also had a strong all-around game with nine points, eight rebounds, and two steals.

The game started as a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading baskets in the first quarter. The Tigers surged ahead late in the period to take a five-point lead into the second quarter. Sewanee then broke the game open, continuing with a 17-0 run into the second frame, building a 29-15 lead. Falvey fueled the charge with nine points during the stretch, while four other Tigers contributed to the scoring.

Warren Wilson responded with a 14-point burst to close the half, cutting Sewanee's lead to five, 33-28, at the break.

The Owls carried their momentum into the third quarter, briefly taking a one-point lead. However, a timely three-pointer from Lilly Phillips put the Tigers back in front. The lead changed hands again after a three-pointer by Tatyana Lewis, but Wright's clutch free throws and Gavin's triple gave Sewanee the edge. Tied at 46-46, the Tigers closed the quarter on a 17-9 run, powered by eight points from Cleveland and six from Brianna Keating-Rendon.

In the final quarter, back-to-back three-pointers from Phillips and Falvey extended Sewanee's lead to 16 points, effectively putting the game out of reach. The Tigers maintained control down the stretch to secure the 82-66 win.

The Tigers continue their road stretch as they travel to Jacksonville State on Monday.
