Despriet/Carpenter advance in Day One of ITA Cup

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Brooke Despriet and Ansley Carpenter competed on the first day of the annual ITA Cup in Mount Berry, Georgia for the Tigers.

Seniors Despriet and Carpenter earned their doubles spot after winning the ITA South Regional Double title.

They started the tournament facing the NYU duo of Siona Vallabhaneni and Victoria Wang on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT.

Despriet and Carpenter completed a routine straight-set win, dropping just one game for a 6-1, 6-0 win.

They face the No. 1 seeded Pomona Pitzer team of Marissa Markey and Angie Zhou on Friday at 4:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. CT.
