Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Slow start sends Rhodes past women's hoops

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Olivia Falvey posted 19 points and Cydney Wright added 17 but the Tigers fell to Rhodes in women's basketball action on Friday night in Memphis, Tenn. 

Sewanee stayed even with Rhodes in the first quarter as Falvey tallied seven points. The Tigers struggled in the second quarter as the Lynx went on a 23-8 run, with Wright scoring Sewanee's lone eight points from layups. 

Falvey and Shay Conn opened the second half for the Tigers with a pair of threes as the Lynx were unable to convert for the first 2:86 of the quarter. Sewanee outscored the Lynx 17-14 but were unable to overcome their deficit from the first half. 

Sewanee ended the game on an eight-to-three run off a three from Falvey, a pull up jumper from Conn, and a layup and a free throw from Humphrey. 

Wright added five rebounds, an assist, and a steal for the game. Kayla Antoine led the team in rebounds with seven and tallied seven points. 

The Tigers will travel to face Hendrix on Sunday at 1 p.m.
